Speeding Car Fires Shots at Biden's House

A car raced by Joe Biden's home in Delaware last night, firing off several gun shots and then speeding away before Secret Service or police could catch it. The incident took place about 8:25pm last night, reports the New York Times, and it's unclear whether Biden's residence, which sits about 300 yards back from the public road, was actually hit. Neither the vice president or his wife were home at the time. "The shots were heard by Secret Service personnel posted at the residence and a vehicle was observed by an agent leaving the scene at a high rate of speed," says a spokesman.

One person was later detained, reports CNN, though apparently not in connection with the shooting. Per the Secret Service spokesman: "While the incident scene was being searched at approximately [9pm], an individual in a vehicle attempted to pass a New Castle County police officer who was securing the outer perimeter of the area. As a result of the interaction with the officer, this individual was arrested for resisting arrest." (More Joe Biden stories.)
