A tragic end to the search for Bud and June Runion: Bodies believed to be the missing couple have been found along with their SUV, police in Georgia say. The couple had traveled around 200 miles to buy a 1966 Ford Mustang from somebody who answered their Craigslist ad, but police say there was no car and they believe Ronnie Adrian "Jay" Towns set up a meeting to rob the couple, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The couple's SUV was found submerged in a shallow body of water, police say. Towns, 28, surrendered to police last night accompanied by family members.

Towns has been charged with making false statements to investigators and attempting to commit criminal theft by deception. Police say more charges are likely. Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson tells WMAZ that he is confident Towns—who he says comes from a good family and has no criminal record—is involved in the deaths and he is not currently seeking any other suspects. "This is not the outcome we had hoped for, but obviously it's the one we have to deal with," the sheriff says. "My heart goes out to the Runion family. We've done everything we could possibly do."
