When last seen, Exploding Kittens had reached its $10,000 Kickstarter goal in eight minutes and zoomed right on by, racking up a hefty $1.8 million as of last Wednesday. But the Internet, apparently a big fan of "kittens and explosions and laser beams and sometimes goats," did not stop there: The Russian Roulette-inspired brainchild of The Oatmeal creator Matthew Inman is as of yesterday Kickstarter's most-backed project ever, though Mashable notes that other projects have pulled in more money. The current eye-popping stats: Upward of 109,000 backers to the tune of more than $4.3 million. Twenty-two days remain in the campaign. (More Kickstarter stories.)
