(Newser) – At 23 years and 59 days old, LeBron James became the youngest in NBA history to reach 10,000 points; however, the record was eclipsed by a 92-87 loss to the league-leading Celtics. Boston evened the season series at 2-2, jumping out to a 25-16 first-quarter lead and snuffing rallies by the defending East champions.

Starting point guard Delonte West had a 20-point showing in his return to Boston, where he played his first three years; however, the numbers included a meaningless last-second three-pointer that prettied up the score. LeBron suffered a sprained ankle in the first half, but X-rays were negative and he started the second.
