As Britney Spears' True Hollywood Story unfolds in real time, the latest dust-up centers on mother Lynne Spears' accusations that her daughter was drugged by former manager Sam Lutfi. The LAPD is working "to determine if laws have been violated" in response to Lynne's deposition claiming that Lutfi told her he had added ground-up pills to Britney's food, reports E! Online.

Lutfi doesn't deny that he dosed the songstress, but argues that the meds he gave her—which he won't name—were "miracle pills" that were "working wonders." The LAPD, meanwhile, isn't giving much away about their view of the situation. "Particular suspects have not yet been fully identified, nor has a formal investigation into open charges officially commenced," one officer announced. (More Britney Spears stories.)
