Ashley Judd isn't just complaining about a slew of vulgar tweets she received, she's pressing charges. The actress was watching her beloved Kentucky Wildcats take on Arkansas Sunday when she sent out a tweet accusing Arkansas of playing dirty, reports the Chicago Tribune. Cue the avalanche of abusive responses. "The amount of gender violence that I experienced is absolutely extraordinary," Judd told the Today show. "And a significant part of my day today will be spent filing police reports at home about gender violence that's directed at me on social media."

Judd has been retweeting some examples, noting that she's been called "mentally weak for not tolerating sodomy threats." After last year's high-profile abuse of Robin Williams' daughter, Zelda, Twitter promised to get stricter, and the Verge notes that it unveiled an option today that allows people to receive an email report about tweets they deem abusive. The feature "makes it easier for you to report threats that you feel may warrant attention from law enforcement," says the company blog. (More Ashley Judd stories.)
