Celtics Outlast Haggard Bobcats

Posted Mar 1, 08 12:37 AM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Despite only being able to field a roster of nine men, Charlotte put up a fight yesterday before succumbing to Boston 108-100, the Boston Herald reports.  "We're playing with what we have," said Bobcats' coach Sam Vincent. With the lineup chipped away by injury, Charlotte still started strong, taking an early 14-7 lead before Boston pulled away for good at 24-23.

Boston, who suffered their only double digit loss of the season to Charlotte, was led by Ray Allen's 22 points and Rajon Rondo's career high 16 assists. The Bobcats, who have not won a road game this season when trailing at the half, managed to pull within five with little more than two minutes remaining before succumbing.
