The saying usually goes "Tip your waitress," not "Run out the door without paying, then run her down in the parking lot with your Volkswagen when she tries to remind you that's not legal and/or nice." Yet, as ABC 7 reports, we have the case of four young Californians who have been charged with doing just that last night at the Mexico Lindo restaurant in Anaheim. "The victim, a waitress at the restaurant, reported that she walked into the parking lot to confront four patrons who left without paying their bill," an Orange County Sheriff's Department rep tells the OC Register. "As she attempted to contact the patrons in their vehicle, they drove away striking the victim and knocking her to the ground."

The vehicle ran over the legs of the unnamed 19-year-old waitress; neither leg was broken, notes CBS, though she was taken to the hospital and treated for cuts and bruises. Early today, police spotted a black Jetta matching the description of the getaway car outside a Motel 6. Inside were Rowshaid Pellum, 24, of Cerritos; and Markeisha Williams, 18, Shyteice Miles, 19, and Santeea Ralph, 23, all of Long Beach. They face a colorful list of charges including assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, and defrauding an innkeeper. Bail is set at $25,000 each. (At least no one ran out of orange juice or was listening to Primus.)
