Warriors Spark in Shutdown of the Sixers

AI leads Nuggets past Clippers, Heat finally get road win at Sonics

(Newser) – Stephen Jackson and Monta Ellis each scoring 21 points is something Golden State fans expect. But rookie Brandan Wright posting a career-high 12 points and seven rebounds in only 17 mintues was a bonus, says the San Francisco Chronicle. The surging Warriors posted a 119-97 win over the 76ers, who missed their first 14 shots.  Elsewhere in the NBA:

  • Denver grabbed its first home sweep of the Clippers in 7 years on a fiercely battled 110-104 victory, thanks largely to Allen Iverson's 38 points and Carmelo Anthony's 30.
  • Miami's first road victory in 10 weeks came against a sad-sack Seattle team that couldn't penetrate the Heat's defense for a 103-93 decision.
