An odd game of rock, paper, scissors and a pesky armadillo factor into the weirdest crime stories of the week:

  • Teen Avoids Ticket by Throwing Rock: If you've never beat an underage-drinking ticket by taking on law enforcement in a rock, paper, scissors match, you obviously haven't encountered officers working the Chilifest music festival in Texas. That's apparently what happened to this serious-looking girl in a Vine that's gone viral. But it's not all fun and games for those involved.
  • Man Realizes He's Babysitting a Kidnap Victim: Another strange kidnapping story is in the news, but the good part is that the 2-year-old at the center of it is safe and sound. Beyond that, things get weird—a man babysitting the boy called 911 to report his whereabouts after seeing an Amber Alert. Here's how police say the Washington boy ended up in his home.

  • Man Hits Armadillo, Mother-in-Law With Single Shot: Larry McElroy was just trying to get rid of a pesky armadillo. But when the 54-year-old Georgia man fired his 9mm pistol at the creature about 100 yards away from his mother-in-law's Lee County mobile home, the bullet ricocheted off the animal, through the home's back door, through a recliner, and into 74-year-old Carol Johnson's back.
  • Office Manager Accused of Posing as Dentist: An office manager was arraigned Thursday on charges she posed as a dentist when the real dentist was away—and seriously injured patients after pulling their teeth, performing root canals on them, and injecting their mouths, prosecutors say. And that's not all they allege Valbona Yzeiraj did.
  • Good Samaritan Stops to Help at Crash ... and Probably Regrets It: A Good Samaritan's new car is a crumpled mess thanks to her good deed. The weird chain of events in Marin County, California: Police say two men stole a Honda about 10:30pm Monday night. They soon crashed, and a driver of a Toyota came upon the scene and stopped to see if she could help. Things didn't go so well from there.
