Love Is All UCLA Needs Against 'Zona

Notre Dame beats DePaul; Louisville dominates Villanova

Share

(Newser) – Kevin Love may be a freshman, but you’d never know it by the way he's played this year, and especially today: UCLA’s center led the Bruins with 24 points and 15 rebounds to defeat the Arizona Wildcats, 68-66. Arizona’s Jerryd Bayless made every effort in the final minute to stop him, but Love prevailed, helping 4th-ranked UCLA remain atop the Pac-10 standings. Elsewhere in college hoops:

  • No. 17 Notre Dame clinched a first-round bye in the Big East tournament, hanging on to beat DePaul, 98-91. In typical fashion, Luke Harangody led the Irish scoring with 24 points.
  • No. 13 Louisville, winners of their ninth-straight, dominated the Villanova Wildcats 68-54. The red-hot Cardinals take on 11th-ranked Georgetown in a battle for the Big East title this Saturday.
