An argument about a car repair ended with a tragic accident involving another vehicle, say Houston police: A pregnant woman died Monday after being run over by her husband; her baby, who was delivered at 36 weeks via C-section, survived. Police tell KPRC 2 News that the unnamed couple were arguing over money the woman needed to get her Honda Civic fixed. She wanted it now; her husband said the fix would happen later, once he had more money, say police. He was sitting behind the wheel of a truck at the time and tried to leave as she stood outside.

"As he was leaving, she came to driver's door, held onto the door, the husband drives away, where she slips and falls, and the husband runs over her," says Rolando Saenz, an investigator with the Houston PD. Saenz says witnesses describe the man as crying and upset, and NBC DFW reports no charges have been filed; police believe it was unintentional. The New York Daily News identifies the woman as Enerida Perez-Barrera, 35. It reports the child born was a son; the baby is in stable condition at Memorial Hermann Hospital. KPRC 2 News was told the woman also has a 17-year-old son. It's not the first such tragedy to make headlines this week: A father of seven died driving his pregnant wife to the hospital.
