Bruce Jenner's not-so-secret secret is now officially revealed: “For all intents and purposes, I’m a woman,” he told Diane Sawyer of ABC News. “People look at me differently. They see you as this macho male, but my heart and my soul and everything that I do in life—it is part of me,” he said. "That female side is part of me. That’s who I am.” Jenner is 65 now, but he says he's known since childhood, keeping the secret from the public through his days as an Olympic superstar and later as the patriarch of the Kardashian clan. Jenner is undecided on whether he will have sex-change surgery, but he will live as a transgender woman, a transition that will be followed in an eight-episode reality TV series for E!, reports CNN. It debuts in July.

Jenner says his coming out is not about ratings. "I just can’t pull the curtain anymore, OK?” he told Sawyer. “I built a nice little life. Again, Bruce lives a lie. She is not a lie. I can’t do it anymore.” Jenner says he does not consider himself gay, adding that part of the education process is letting people know that gender identity is not the same as sexual orientation. "Let's go with asexual for now," he says. In the interview, Jenner and Sawyer mostly used the male "he" and "him," but Jenner says this will be his last interview as "Bruce." He did not reveal what his female name will be. "My brain is much more female than it is male. It’s hard for people to understand that, but that’s what my soul is.” (More Bruce Jenner stories.)
