After 10 doctors called for Columbia University to fire that "quack" Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Oz fired back and then doubled down, the medical community decided to poll itself. Some 1,300 doctors responded to a poll put out by social network SERMO, and these are the results, per LiveScience:

  • 57% (735) said Oz should quit his position at Columbia
  • 4% (50) say he should lose his medical license
  • 22% (280) say he should quit and lose his license
  • 18% say he should do nothing
(The poll's final results are here.) A study late last year, meanwhile, showed that about half of Oz's recommendations from his show were bunk. (More Mehmet Oz stories.)
