Fla. Governor, DNC Chair Talk Primary Do-Over

Posted Mar 3, 08 1:40 PM CST in Politics

(Newser) – Florida Gov. Charlie Crist wants to redo his state’s Democratic primary, and DNC chair Howard Dean is “very willing to listen to the people of Florida.” Crist, a Republican, isn't committing any funding, however, and officials have said the state won’t pay for a $4 million caucus or a more expensive primary, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

“I think it’s very important, though that those delegates are seated,” Crist said yesterday on CNN's "Late Edition." Dean told Florida voters their situation was the party leaders’ fault, not theirs, and said, “Of course, we'd like to seat Florida.” Hillary Clinton handily won the Florida primary, but Democrats didn't campaign in the state.
