Cliff-High Prom Invite May Prove Costly

Not the destiny he was looking for: A hopeful suitor, still unidentified, is in hot water after painting his prom invite on the Black Cliffs outside Boise, Idaho, reports the Idaho Statesman. The problem is that the giant "DESTINY, PROM?" message could bring graffiti charges punishable by six months in jail and a $1,000 fine, plus possible federal vandalism charges. And assuming the suitor is caught, he'll likely be on the hook for cleanup costs.

"We realize prom proposals are a big deal these days, but this one was just a really bad—and illegal—idea, which caused some serious aesthetic and cultural damage," says the Ada County Sheriff's Office. (More weird crimes stories.)
