Moss Will Stand Pat for $27M

Posted Mar 3, 08 11:07 PM CST in Sports    Most Covered

(newser) – After flirting with several other teams, New England's record-setting receiver Randy Moss has decided to stay put to the tune of $27 million over three years, reports the Boston Herald. The price amounts to a discount of sorts—Moss had received a more lucrative offer from the Eagles over the weekend.

However, playing with Tom Brady proved to be a bigger lure; the two colluded to set numerous offensive records in just their first season together. Moss's below-market-value contract will allow the Patriots some wiggle room under the salary cap, which has coach Bill Belichick pleased: "It is undoubtedly a relationship we are excited to continue.”
