Paul, Chandler Deep-Six Knicks

Posted Mar 3, 08 11:13 PM CST in Sports

(Newser) – Behind the brawn of Tyson Chandler and the late-game heroics of Chris Paul, the Hornets dealt the Knicks their 42nd loss, ensuring New York's seventh straight season below .500. Chandler pulled down 18 rebounds, and Paul orchestrated an attack in the final minutes that gave the Hornets the game's last 10 points; they won, 100-88.

It was a marked contrast to New Orleans's previous game, which featured a fourth-quarter collapse against Washington. Instead, the Hornets topped their victory total from the previous season with 40, moving within a game and a half of West-leading San Antonio. Embattled center Eddy Curry had 19 points in the loss.
