A suicide attack at one of Pakistan's premier military academies has left at least seven people dead and 19 injured. The blast in the parking lot of Lahore's Naval War College set off explosions in the gasoline tanks of neighboring cars and sparked a fire, Reuters reports. Today's bombing, the fourth in five days, poses a serious challenge to the incoming government, reports AFP.

The Naval War College trains officials from China, Sri Lanka, and more than a dozen Muslim nations as well as Pakistan. "The blasts were so huge they shook the windowpanes of my office opposite the college," said a lawyer in Lahore. Police said that the timing of the attack seemed arbitrary, although the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff was meeting with Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi today. (More Pakistan stories.)
