(Newser) – Jason Williams scored a goal and notched an assist in the Chicago’s 4-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild. The Blackhawks have now won eight of their last 11 games and are within striking distance of the Western Conference’s final playoff spot. The victory marked Chicago’s first win in Minnesota in nearly five years, according to the Associated Press.

Minnesota jumped out early on Chicago, scoring less than six minutes into the contest, but a fluke goal 25 seconds later would even the score. The Blackhawks gained the lead on Duncan Keith’s second-period goal. Dustin Byfuglien added some insurance in the third and Craig Adams sealed the victory with an empty-netter. The Wild had won three straight coming into the contest.
