Donald Trump is a man of his word, at least when that word is "sue." The GOP candidate made good on his threat to sue Univision for hundreds of millions of dollars yesterday, filing a $500 million lawsuit in New York State Supreme Court over the network's decision to drop the Miss USA pageant, the New York Post reports. Univision, like NBC, says it decided to drop the pageant because of Trump's remarks about Mexican immigrants, but the lawsuit accuses the network of trying to quash the candidate's "freedom of speech under the First Amendment as he begins to campaign for the nation's presidency," reports NPR.

Trump also accuses the networks of "abandoning" 51 "wonderful young women who have come from all over the United States to pursue their dream of being crowned Miss USA," the Post reports. But the show will go on: A Miss USA rep tells Deadline that the July 12 pageant will be streamed online, even though co-hosts Thomas Roberts and Cheryl Burke have dropped out. Univision, meanwhile, calls the lawsuit "factually false and legally ridiculous," and the AP reports that Trump has gained some new foes: Several Mexican TV firms have dumped Trump-related projects, and Mexico says it won't be sending a contestant to the Miss Universe pageant.
