Drivers Had Really Unsafe Reaction to Ducks in Road

Somehow, no humans or ducks were injured

Now, the Minnesota State Patrol doesn't explicitly say, "Run over the ducks." But you can read between the lines to get that message after a harrowing video captured by DOT cameras on I-35 emerged. In it, a group of ducks crosses the highway as a dozen vehicles swerve and even come to a complete stop to avoid hitting them, reports KARE 11. Incredibly, no accidents resulted and the ducklings made it to the other side. "Unfortunately these little ducks are on a freeway where they're not supposed to be," says a State Patrol spokeswoman. "People should not stop on a freeway."

She tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune that she knows the end result of that advice won't sit well with those rooting for the little ducklings, but so be it. "It's definitely a touchy subject," says Lt. Tiffani Nielson. "It's not very kind, but the risk of a crash is high." (If you don't believe her, this tragedy in Canada might convince you.)
