Lots of husbands do lots of things that land them in the doghouse, but one Brooklyn man has Judy Blume trying to bail him out. As the New York Daily News reports, the initially unidentified man accidentally gave away his wife's treasured copy of Blume's classic, Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret, on Saturday and later started circulating a flier seeking the return of the tome he says is a "keepsake from her mother and is irreplaceable. On the inside cover is a note that reads ‘Christmas 1991.'" (He emphasizes his desperation through the use of eight exclamation points: "Lost Book!!!!!!!!")

One George Cooper took note, and sent news of the plea along to his own wife—Blume, who tweeted, "Oh no tragic! Will send signed copy. Not the same, I know. Let's hope it saves the marriage. Not sure I can find that cover but will try." It's all apparently going to work out. Leonard Lasek this morning tweeted, "@judyblume I'm the terrible husband!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart...marriage saved!!!" Blume had a lovely reply: ".@reddsauce-and you were just married! I take this as a good omen. Still think Katie's book will show up but I'm on the case. Flying today." (Blume, meanwhile, has a new book out—her first in 17 years.)
