People have gone to some crazy lengths to try to hide their identity from police (Exhibit A: this guy). And then there's Kenzo Roberts. Lee County Sheriff's detectives pulled over the Florida man on Thursday as he was driving a 2015 Mercedes that was listed as stolen; they say Roberts was using a fake ID at the time, and his alleged transgressions didn't stop at two: Officials say he had a concealed firearm and three fake credit cards on him. He was put in a patrol car, and then this happened: Police say video shows Roberts trying to thwart their ability to ID him ... by trying to chew off his fingertips while in the car. WPTV reports he also tried to damage his fingerprints by rubbing them against the back seat's cage.

The Lee County Sheriff's Office posted a video of it to Facebook, where it described Roberts as a " criminal so desperate to not be identified that he chewed off his own finger prints." His effort was unsuccessful, reports USA Today. He was identified by way of a fingerprint scanner. Not only was it determined that Roberts was in the country illegally, but he was also hit with a long list of charges: possession of a counterfeit credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of similitude of a driver's license, driving while license suspended, and false identification given to law enforcement. Roberts also had two previous warrants for his arrest, notes WPTV, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. (More strange stuff stories.)
