(Newser) – The Ottawa Senators snapped a three-game winless streak and handed the Phoenix Coyotes a third straight home loss in a 4-2 win last night, reports the Associated Press. Dany Heatley had two goals for the Senators, who were without ailing leading-scorer Daniel Alfredsson for a third straight game. In other NHL action:

  • Zach Parise scored with 48.3 seconds left and Martin Brodeur had 42 saves as the New Jersey Devils beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 2-1.
  • Brett McLean scored two power-play goals and Nathan Horton scored another in overtime as the Florida Panthers beat the Atlanta Thrashers, 3-2. The win was the fourth straight for Florida.
