McGrady Boosts Rockets to 18th Straight Win

(Newser) – Tracy McGrady scored 41 points and dished out nine assists to lead the Houston Rockets to a 106-96 win over the New Orleans Hornets last night, reports the Houston Chronicle. The win is the 18th in a row for the Rockets, the fourth longest streak in NBA history. Chris Paul had 37 points and 11 assists for the Hornets. In other NBA action:

  • The Boston Celtics won their eighth straight as Ray Allen scored 23 points and Paul Pierce added 19 in a 119-89 romp over the Memphis Grizzlies.
  • Brandon Roy's 27 points helped the Portland Trail Blazers beat the New York Knicks 120-114 in overtime despite 45 points from Nate Robinson.
