Barack Obama spurned Hillary Clinton's vice presidential offer today as an attempt to "hoodwink" and "bamboozle" voters, the Los Angeles Times reports. “I don't know how somebody who is in second place is offering the vice presidency to somebody who is in first place,” he said, noting his lead in state races, delegates, and the popular vote.
"That's exactly the kind of double-speak, double-talk that Washington is very good at," he said on the stump in Mississippi, Reuters reports. Asked why the Illinois senator is ready to be VP but not president, a Clinton spokesman said Obama has not "passed the commander in chief test. But there is a long way to go between now and Denver."
