Sixers Can't Overcome Slow Start Vs. Celtics

Posted Mar 10, 08 10:47 PM CDT in Sports    Most Covered

(Newser) – Boston blazed out to a 15-0 lead and never looked back in a 100-86 win in front of a sold-out crowd in Philadelphia, its ninth consecutive victory. The Celtics pushed the Sixers into a mostly perimeter offense in which they shot 32% and had only 11 points on the fast break, reports the Inquirer. Kevin Garnett led Boston with 26 points.

Garnett and center Kendrick Perkins were an excellent defensive duo inside as Garnett had 12 rebounds and Perkins blocked six shots in the first half alone. Ray Allen was also solid for the Celts, hitting 8-of-12 shots and scoring 21 points as Boston became the first team to reach 50 wins this season. Andre Miller led the Sixers with 22 points.
