Nine points behind eighth-place Philadelphia, Toronto rallied from a 3-0 disadvantage to win 4-3 in overtime reports the Globe and Mail. Pavel Kubina's fortuitous last-minute game-winner began life as a pass but caromed off a stick in front of net. The scrappy Leafs outshot the Flyers, 55-25. Also in pro hockey:

  • Across the country, Edmonton frittered away its 3-0 lead to desperate St. Louis, only to win 4-3 in overtime thanks to Andrew Cogliano, who has three straight game-winners.
  • In a matchup of current and former Ducks goalies, Ilya Bryzgalov prevailed over Jean-Sebastian Giguere, giving his Coyotes a 3-2 shootout win.
