Jim Carrey says he was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of ex-girlfriend Cathriona White. The 30-year-old makeup artist was found dead in a Sherman Oaks home on Monday, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. Her death is being investigated as a possible suicide, with an examination scheduled for Wednesday. In a statement released Tuesday, Carrey said he was "deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," per CNN. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," the 53-year-old continued. "My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt." (White reportedly addressed a suicide note to Carrey.)
