Ronny Scott Hicks   (Brevard County Sheriff's Office)

(Newser) – Ronny Scott Hicks learned the hard way Monday night that it is, in fact, possible to get arrested for driving under the influence even if you're not in a car. The Florida 54-year-old did so by allegedly riding his motorized wheelchair around Palm Bay while intoxicated, WKMG reports; someone called police because Hicks was allegedly obstructing traffic on a bridge. Cops found him slurring his words and smelling of alcohol, and he allegedly proceeded to refuse to take a breathalyzer or follow police instructions and was thus taken into custody. Hicks also has two prior DUI convictions, WTSP reports. (Read more wheelchair stories.)
