Six months ago, Anna Bozman Thompson lost her almost 9-year-old son, Lake, to leukemia. During his years-long health struggle, she and her boyfriend, Travis Thompson, put their wedding plans on hold. But in October, the Georgia couple finally tied the knot, partially because Lake always wanted them to, Fox 5 Atlanta reports. "The thing I dreaded most was taking the pictures," Thompson tells the station. "I was sad because he wasn't going to be in the pictures and it's like you feel guilty taking photos without him." The wedding photographer, a friend of Thompson's, knew how the grieving mother felt and was able to edit one of the family photos so that Lake's haunting image is included alongside his two living siblings. It went viral after Thompson posted it on Facebook Sunday.

"I do know that Lake has been watching over us especially when we got married," she wrote. "Although I felt his presence that day and I was actually happy, it was almost unbearable to take family pictures without him." Still, "they turned out beautiful and thanks to my amazing photographer she was able to get some special edits done. I needed this picture more than she or anyone could ever know." The photographer tells Fox 5, "When I got home there was this amazing light in so many of the family photos that moved around them. It never changed shape or color and it moved all around them. It even reflected off her dress in one! ... I know Lake was shining down on all of us that day." (See if you can spot the alterations to this photo of Ulysses S. Grant.)
