Crayola's New Products Aren't for Kids
Go nuts, grown-ups.   (Crayola)

Crayola is hoping to cash in on the adult coloring book trend this holiday season with its new adult coloring kits. Perfect for adults who color—or as CNYCentral.com calls them, colorists—Crayola Color Escapes come in Geometric, Kaleidoscope, Nature, or Garden themes and include either colored pencils, markers, or watercolor pencils to help you bring artist Claudia Nice's black-and-white illustrations to life, per Gizmodo. The kits aren't yet priced, but they should probably be considered an investment: The illustrations are 11 by 17 inches, so they can be framed and hung as art. Only hoping to try out your skills? Crayola has also come out with four smaller coloring books from various Hallmark artists.

Crayola is marketing its coloring kits as a relaxing pastime, and colorists understand why. "I just get settled on the couch at night, and I get into the flow of it, and all of a sudden I'm so relaxed," says a woman who meets at a Barnes & Noble in Ithaca, NY, to color with other adults once a week. Still don't see what all the fuss is about? Keep in mind that you can now find a coloring book on almost any subject, from Game of Thrones to Ryan Gosling. The National Post reports Canadians are especially keen on the new coloring trend: Nine of the top 10 "most wished for" books on Amazon Canada this week are adult coloring books. The top "most wished for" book on Amazon US? A Harry Potter coloring book. (More coloring book stories.)
