UCLA Staff Peeked Into Brit's Records

(Newser) – A California hospital is trying to terminate some 13 employees, and has already disciplined others, for poking around in Britney Spears’ medical records, the Los Angeles Times reports. The firings come after bosses at UCLA Medical Center specifically warned employees about unnecessary perusal of patient files on the morning of Spears’ most recent hospitalization, in January, for psychiatric evaluation.

UCLA sees its fair share of stars, and all employees sign confidentiality agreements; however, workers at the Santa Monica facility were caught looking into Britney’s records when her son Sean Preston was born there in 2005. When the honor system doesn’t work, administrators have backup options: All computer access is strictly monitored, and leads right back to nosy nurses.
