Olbermann Rips Clinton Over Ferraro Flap

Posted Mar 15, 08 6:00 PM CDT in Politics

(Newser) – If Keith Olbermann is the Rush Limbaugh of the left—as Chris Cillizza observes in his Washington Post Fix blog—Hillary Clinton couldn’t have been happy when Olbermann blasted her Wednesday night over the recent Geraldine Ferraro flap. “You are now campaigning as if Barack Obama were the Democrat and you were the Republican,” he said.

Olbermann rolled for 10 minutes, calling Ferraro’s remarks “cheap, ignorant, vile racism.” By neither firing nor rebuking Ferraro, Clinton “missed a critical opportunity to do what is right.” A Clinton spokesman disagreed with Olbermann without attacking him, saying Thursday that “many of us remain fans of Keith and enjoy watching the show on nights other than last night."
