Posted Mar 15, 08 8:45 PM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – Clemson had lost 22 straight to No. 7 Duke and hadn't reached a conference tournament final in 46 years, but none of that matters now, as the Tigers beat the Blue Devils 78-74 in the ACC semifinals today, reports the Associated Press. Clemson, which was led by Trevor Booker's 18 points, will play North Carolina tomorrow. In other NCAA basketball action:

  • Tenth-seeded Illinois became the lowest seed since 1999 to reach the Big Ten championship game with a 54-50 win over Minnesota. Illinois, which plays Wisconsin in the final, was led by Shaun Pruitt's 16 points.
  • Terrance Woodbury scored 17 points and Zac Swansey had five points in overtime as Georgia beat Kentucky in the quarterfinals of the SEC. Georgia plays Mississippi State in the semis tonight.
