Posted Mar 16, 08 12:14 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – No. 5 Kansas knew it would need a big Rush to beat Texas A&M today, and luckily for the Jayhawks, they had it. Brandon Rush scored a career-high 28 points to lead Kansas to a 77-71 win in the Big 12 semifinals, reports the Kansas City Star. The Jayhawks will play Texas in the conference final today. In other NCAA action:

  • Steven Hill hit a jump shot with 5.3 seconds to go as Arkansas upset No. 4 Tennessee 92-91 in the semifinals of the SEC Tournament. Arkansas will play Georgia in today's final.
  • Sundiata Gaines scored 20 point to lead Georgia to its second SEC win of the day with a 64-60 victory over Mississippi State. Georgia beat Kentucky earlier, in a game delayed Friday because of the tornado in Georgia.
