Preschool Teacher May Have Just Become ISIS' Latest Victim
Police officers patrol near an Aubervilliers preschool in France after a masked assailant with a box cutter and scissors who mentioned ISIS attacked a teacher on Monday.   (Michel Euler)

It sounded awful: A preschool teacher in Paris claimed that a masked assailant shouting allegiance to the Islamic State attacked him at school before classes began on Monday. Now it appears he made the whole thing up. The Paris prosecutor's office says the 45-year-old male invented the tale of an ISIS supporter going after him with a box cutter and scissors, reports AP. The teacher was hospitalized with apparently self-inflicted injuries before the hoax was revealed. His injuries were not considered life-threatening, reports the New York Times. The allegations set off a manhunt in the northern Paris suburb of Aubervilliers. There's no word yet on the teacher's motive. (More France stories.)
