Evangelicals Split on Climate Change

(Newser) – American evangelical Christians diverge on the issue of climate change, with one side calling it a hoax and the other exhorting believers—in the Lord as well as the scientific evidence—to work against global warming. The BBC reports on two Christian universities in Virginia that come down on opposite sides of the divide.

Liberty University remains skeptical; one class was asked how many were worried about global warming, and not a single hand went up. At Eastern Mennonite University, the general attitude is that the earth is a gift to humanity and should be cared for accordingly. Reporter Matt Frei asks: "What could give a clearer insight into the opposing souls of America?"
