Ottawa Continues Playoff Rampage

Posted May 15, 07 5:41 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – The Ottawa Senators needed only one goal from their vaunted line of Heatley, Alfredsson, and Spezza to extend their playoff winning streak to six, as python-owner and goalie Ray Emery scored his third shutout of the postseason. Ottawa, a fourth seed, hopes to sweep the NHL's highest-scoring team at home on Wednesday.

Buffalo's creative attack has been nullified by Ottawa's defense, most notably on power plays; the Sabres are 0-for-18 thus far. The Senators had 32 shots compared to the Sabres' 15, while Alfredsson had a goal in his fifth straight game.
