Coming up with an invention that will appeal to the masses is the goal of every creator worth his or her salt, and the folks behind the Hypnos Hoodie think they've done just that. "This is a product that a lot of people need in their daily lives," the Kickstarter video for the snooze-enhancing product notes. "We all have spare moments during the day where we can … get a little bit of sleep in." For the past two years, designers have been toiling away on the sweatshirt, which features a built-in pillow they say can be inflated in three seconds and that contours to the wearer's head, CNET reports. The company says the hoodie, which comes fitted or in a looser, relaxed style, is also easy to deflate and "discreet," meaning no one will notice it when it's deflated, or gawk at someone wearing one even when it's blown up.
The Kickstarter campaign, which has already raised more than $213,000—far surpassing its original $30,000 goal—ends on Jan. 11. Contributors who cough up at least $69 will get the standard pullover (there's a zippered version as well for a pledge of at least $89, plus a nylon jacket version), while a pledge of $5,000 or more earns the backer 15 hoodies, plus a trip out to Los Angeles for the release party (we assume they'd send a hoodie in advance for the plane ride). "It's giving the gift of sleep to people," the Kickstarter video says. (But will Oklahoma residents be allowed to use them in public?)
