A Michigan woman was arrested this week after authorities found her six-month-old puppy frozen to death in sub-zero temperatures, WWMT reports. Several neighbors called 911 about the pit bull puppy, which was tied up outside. “It appeared that it had been outside for quite some time, and they were concerned it had passed away as if the homeowner had simply forgotten about it,” Deputy Joshua Shook says. The woman is facing animal cruelty charges, though police don't believe her negligence was intentional. “She seemed pretty upset about what happened,” Shook says. “I do believe that she put the dog out with good intentions but simply fell asleep and forgot about it.” Authorities removed a second pit bull from the woman's home.
