Production is set to start this spring on Fifty Shades Darker, the much-anticipated sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, and the first new cast member has been announced. Kim Basinger is on board, and the role promises to be a steamy one: that of Elena Lincoln, Christian Grey's business partner and ex-lover, Variety reports. The Lincoln character is introduced in the second book of EL James' series, per Entertainment Weekly.

Basinger—no stranger to sultry in her star turns in 9 1/2 Weeks and LA Confidential—will be joined by Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan, once more taking on their roles of Anastasia Steele and the aforementioned Grey. (Not that the first Fifty Shades received much critical acclaim.)
