Now Taking Reservations for Sometime Next Year

Posted Mar 22, 08 11:43 AM CDT in Arts & Living US

(Newser) – Move over, French Laundry. The US' most in-demand dinner seat is in "flyspeck" Kennett Square, Pa., 35 miles from Philadelphia, Portfolio writes. Talula's Table takes reservations for its single, 12-seat table one year in advance. "My parents paid me $30 to stand out here," says one teen angling for a spot on a waiting list that commands an entire wall.

It’s rare for a restaurant so small to see this much demand, but diners from mushroom farmers to tycoons are willing to pay $90 for Talula's eight-course tasting menu, prepared by chef Byran Sikora. Actor John Turturro, who dined on egg custard with Jonah crab, concluded, “it was the kind of a meal you'd request before your execution.”
