Drury's Late Goal Sets Up Shootout Win for NYR

(Newser) – Former Little League World Series hero Chris Drury scored with 4:46 left in regulation to pull the New York Rangers even with the New Jersey Devils. Nigel Dawes then beat Martin Brodeur in the shootout to give New York a 2-1 victory. The Rangers are 6-0 against the Devils this year and have yielded only five goals to them, reports the Associated Press.

Dainius Zubrus scored a power play goal in the first period to give New Jersey the lead. The 1-0 advantage appeared to be enough for the Devils, who played stout defense until Drury’s goal. The victory ties New York with Ottawa for fifth in the Eastern Conference, but because they have one fewer win than they are in sixth.
