Putting Leaves Tiger Vulnerable at Doral

Posted Mar 20, 08 9:22 PM CDT in Sports    Most Covered

(newser) – Tiger Woods is human after all. He three-putt the 18th at the CA Championship at Doral today, ending the day with a bogey and a two-shot deficit heading into tomorrow’s second round, reports the Associated Press. "I've got to trust what I see," he said, blaming himself for his poor putting performance. "I didn't do that enough times today, unfortunately."

Geoff Ogilvy and Miguel Angel Jimenez hold the lead, with Stewart Cink just one shot behind. Tiger is tied for fourth with four others, including Phil Mickelson. Woods has won at Doral three straight times and is looking for his sixth-straight tour victory as he plays his last tournament before gearing up for Augusta and the Masters on April 7.
