Brian Sandoval: The Republican said Thursday that he's taking his name out of the running for Antonin Scalia's seat on the Supreme Court, reports USA Today. Sandoval's name surfaced Wednesday in multiple reports, with the White House apparently leaking the news that he was on the short list. "The notion of being considered for a seat on the highest court in the land is beyond humbling and I am incredibly grateful to have been mentioned," said Sandoval in his count-me-out statement. He didn't elaborate on why he doesn't want to be considered. Senate Republicans continue to insist that no Obama nominee will be considered in his final year. (Read more Brian Sandoval stories.)
