A Houston teenager who was declared missing and "in grave or immediate danger" when her father's body was found is dead and may have been dead since before anybody knew she was missing. Police have confirmed that a decomposing body found in a field near a freeway in west Houston is Adriana Coronado, 14. She had been shot multiple times. A neighbor tells the Houston Chronicle that she and her gardener found the body, which had been dragged into bushes, because of the smell. Adriana, who was last seen at around 1am last Saturday, was still wearing pyjamas and slippers, says the neighbor, who is disturbed that the girl's body was "thrown out there like trash."

The burned body of Adriana's father, Caesar Coronado, was found in a ditch last week. He had also been shot, and investigators believe the teen was kidnapped and murdered after witnessing her father's killing, KTRK reports. Police say surveillance video of a man who dumped Caesar Coronado's pickup truck and set it on fire Sunday night could be the key to cracking the case, even though the suspect's face can't be seen, CNN reports. "It's going to take an individual who is familiar with and knows this potential suspect" to identify him through his clothing and way of walking, Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae says.
