Louisville Drops Boise State

Posted Mar 22, 08 1:17 AM CDT in Sports

(Newser) – What’s a team to do when their opponent drops 12 3-pointers and shoots almost 56% from the floor? If you’re Boise State, not too much. The Broncos were routed by the Louisville Cardinals in an NCAA first round matchup last night, 79-61, reports the AP. Boise State entered the game ranked second in the nation in shooting. Their 61 points were the least they’ve scored all season long.

The Cardinals took a 44-31 lead into the halftime break and never led by less than that in the second half. Louisville, which had been in a shooting slump heading into the tournament, appeared to have solved that problem. Earl Clark came off the bench to lead the Cardinals with 15 points; they move on to play Oklahoma tomorrow.
