Sex Guide Gets a Modern Makeover

Posted Mar 23, 08 7:34 PM CDT in Arts & Living

(Newser) – The hirsute lover on the cover is coming back, but other updates to The Joy of Sex are still under wraps, the Telegraph reports. The original author’s son and a relationships psychologist have paired to modernize the 1972 classic that sold more than eight million copies. The September edition "is taking in new material to reflect how sex and sexual relationships have evolved in the last 35 years," the publisher said.

Still present: “the Viennese oyster,” “birdsong at morning,” and “the flanquette,” as well as tips on how to find the A-spot, U-spot and better-known G-spot. Only now those topics will be sharing pages with Viagra, phone sex, sex shops and the art of the striptease. Plans are also in place for a series of spin-offs, including The Joy of Sex Foreplay.
